Plantaginaceae

This is a family that includes three genus and about 270 species, among which English plantain (Plantago Lanceolata) is the most important.

It has very characteristic flowers, that bloom between April and October in meadows, verges, and barren lands.
Its pollen is spheroidal, with a small-medium size (19-39 µm of diameter), with a variable number of pores, and pimpled surface. Patients exclusively allergic to Plantago are rare, and usually are simultaneously sensitised to Poaceae.
