Pollen and alergy
Cupresaceae
- Cypres *
This family includes 18 genus and about 125 species. The most important genus are Cupressus genus (cypresses, and among them, Cupressus Arizonica and Cupressus sempervirens), and Juniperus (junipers y sabines).
The growing allergologic importance of these trees is due to their extended use as ornamental plants (i.e. fences).
This pollen is spheroidal, small-medium sized (19-38 µm in diameter), smooth surfaced, with tiny and thick granules, irregularly scattered.
Its pollinisation period is from October to April, with a maximum peak about February-March.
